Frequently Asked Question: Is funding available for the APS?
 Alaska Performance Scholarship

Governor Parnell proposed the Alaska Performance Scholarship (APS) in 2010 as an invitation to excellence, extended to Alaska students, parents, and educators. The APS is a merit-based scholarship that provides an opportunity for any future Alaska high school graduate who meets a core set of requirements to receive funding to pursue college and/or career training in Alaska.

 Alaska Performance Scholarship Webinars

The Alaska Commission on Postsecondary Education and Department of Education & Early Development invite you to attend an online meeting on the Alaska Performance Scholarship. Internet and phone access is required to participate. These sessions will provide a program overview as well as information on the scholarship’s award levels, eligibility requirements, application requirements, and instructions on using the award. Students, parents, and educators are welcome. Registration is required at least 24 hours prior to meeting start time.

 Alaska Student Aid Portal

The Alaska Student Aid Portal (ASAP) allows you to track receipt of your FAFSA – the annual application for the APS – once you file it; your APS eligibility as reported by your high school after you graduate; as well as how many awards you have used and how much time you have remaining to use the APS. Eligibility and award information for the AlaskAdvantage Education Grant (AEG) is also available in ASAP. Create an ASAP account or log in to your existing account now to see your current status.

Having an ASAP account is not required to receive either the APS or AEG. ASAP uses MyAlaska authentication, which requires that you have an Alaska state ID, learner's permit, or driver's license.
