The Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs (GEAR UP) Alaska scholarship is a federally funded program available to all students who have completed the GEAR UP Alaska program in 6th, 7th and 8th grade. However, no new funding is anticipated, so scholarships are limited. ACPE administers the GEAR UP scholarship on behalf of the Alaska Department of Education and Early Development (EED).
The GEAR UP Alaska scholarship is a need-based program providing aid to full-time and half-time students. The award maximum is $7,000 per year, for up to 4 years. Students will continue to be awarded until the remaining federal grant funds are depleted. For a current Gear Up application, please contact the GEAR UP Scholarship Coordinator at (907) 465-6685 or via email at eed.acpe.specialprograms@alaska.gov.
For eligibility requirements and additional information, please visit EED’s GEAR UP Alaska site.
