Middle school students in 6th, 7th or 8th grade can be part of the newspaper, What's Your Story?

This newspaper showcases Alaskans’ dreams, careers, and successes. It explores different education paths. Every 7th and 8th grade student in the state receives a copy in the mail, and some Alaska middle school students participate in writing it!  Alaska Career Information System (AKCIS)
Students

This free, interactive online career and college planning system offers detailed information, assessments, and activities to help you create your personal career plan.

Start a portfolio:

  • build custom resumes
  • keep track of assessment results
  • save information about colleges and careers that interest them

You can use AKCIS in your middle school, high school, college, or on your own. Ask your teacher, guidance counselor, or career services office about using AKCIS, or learn how to get a free AKCIS account at the AKCIS web site. If you need more help, call the AKCIS helpline.
