Data on Alaska Performance Scholarship (APS): student eligibility, applications, and award acceptance for the 2011-2012 academic year is displayed below. This data includes Fall and Spring semesters for the 2011-2012 academic year. Data Release Date: 5/1/2012.

Definitions
Eligible – An eligible student has been determined to have met the initial academic eligibility requirements (Alaska high school diploma; specified curriculum, GPA, and test score).

Accepting – A student accepting an award is an eligible student who applied (filed a FAFSA), enrolled in a qualifying program at a participating postsecondary institution, and received an award.

This chart displays what percentage of the total number of public high school graduates in each ethnic group became eligible for and accepted the APS award. Statewide, of the 8,064 of high school graduates, 2,322 students (28.8%) qualified; and 892 students (11.1%) accepted and received the award.

APS Acceptance by Financial Status

This chart displays the number of students accepting APS awards within quartiles of the Expected Financial Contribution (EFC) identified upon the completion of the FAFSA. The EFC is calculated based on student and parent (in the case of dependent students) income and assets. A higher EFC typically indicates higher income and assets. These figures include both public and private school APS recipients.
