AlaskAdvantageTM PLUS Loan
for Graduate and Professional Students

The AlaskAdvantage PLUS Loan for Graduate and Professional Students is federally guaranteed and available to graduate and professional students who have borrowed up to the Stafford loan maximum but still have unmet costs. Students can borrow up to the school's cost of attendance less other financial aid received.  The interest rate listed below is fixed, but borrower benefits are variable and can change annually. 

  • Low 6.75% interest rate after borrower benefits
  • 3% origination fee
  • No annual or lifetime loan limits

Eligibility

  • U.S. citizen or eligible non citizen
  • Must meet required credit criteria
  • Must be an Alaska resident
  • Must have exhausted annual Stafford eligibility
  • Minimum loan amount is $200

How to Apply

You can apply online, download an application, or you can stop by our office in Anchorage or Juneau.  Remember:

  1. You may only borrow up to your cost of attendance as certified by the school.
  2. Discuss your financial aid options with the school. Many schools offer different financial aid programs. School financial aid experts will advise you regarding which aid should be applied for. The school may also have specific criteria and deadlines, and you may miss out if you apply without first discussing your options with the school.
